How we build our questions.
Wimble's questions start with publicly available orthopedic source material and end with a physician's review. This page walks through that process, start to finish.

Start with the source material.
Wimble's content is grounded in publicly available primary and secondary orthopedic sources — the kinds of research and review material residents already rely on.
Step 2
Keep what's high yield.
The source material holds far more than any exam will ever ask. We weigh it against years of exam history and keep the facts most likely to appear on test day, organized across the ABOS blueprint.
Step 3
Draft with our own workflow.
We built a proprietary AI workflow that turns those curated facts into board-style questions. It drafts only from the vetted material we give it, and it lets a small clinical team produce a bank of thousands of questions that then move on to physician review.
Step 4
Review questions by hand.
Before a question enters the bank, a physician reviews it and rewrites it where needed for accuracy, completeness, and exam realism. Published questions reflect that reviewer's judgment, not the draft the AI produced.

A final-year orthopedic surgery resident, Mehdi writes board-style questions professionally for one of the most widely used platforms in orthopedic education. He designed Wimble's content pipeline and reviews the questions himself — the same ones he studies from.

After studying machine learning at UT Austin and working at American Express, Ali built the AI workflow and the platform around it. He started Wimble to help his wife, an orthopedic surgery resident, study for her boards.

Keeping the bank accurate is ongoing work. Three things keep it current.
Rotating re-review
Questions cycle back through quality control on a rotating schedule, so the bank keeps pace as the literature changes.
In-app error reporting
Any question can be flagged from inside the app. Our clinical lead reviews every report, and confirmed corrections go out to the whole bank.
Performance monitoring
We watch how questions perform across residents' answers and revise or retire the ones that miss the mark.
